Located just 15km north of Mojacar, Vera is a prosperous town teeming with life. Increasing tourist numbers in recent years have been attributed to the growing variety of gastronomic delights, large street market, and the building of 2 golf courses, Valle de Este and Desert Springs in the surrounding area.
The Vera area has a history dating back at least to the Bronze Age, Antas, slightly inland from Vera, is the site of one of the most important archiological discoveries from this age – El Argar.
Prized since antiquity by a multitude of peoples, today this corner of Andalusia on the Eastern coast of Spain in still a privileged spot. Vera reaches out to the Mediterranean from a province which stands out for its stunning landscapes – the nearby caves of Almanzora, Mojácar, the Cabo de Gata natural park or the Tabernas Desert (the only in Europe). Here in Vera you can enjoy sweeping fine, sandy beaches, a leisure marina, fine golf courses and a full range of social and healthcare facilities, as well as excellent communications whether you choose to arrive by car (exit 534 on the Mediterranean motorway) or by air (daily routes to Almeria, Murcia, Granada, Seville and Madrid).
